College of Arts & Architecture Catalog
Follow the University Brand Identity and Visual Standards to design a catalog for the College of Arts & Architecture and pitch the idea via presentation.
Creating a book map and dummy is essential for the designer to visualize and structure their work. Because this is a pitch, the pages with the most and least amount of text, the back and front covers, and any outlier pages were designed to provide the best demonstration of the design choices.
The university has color, logo, and typography standards that must be met. Their brand values include words such as innovation, leadership, growth, and the future.  Before collaborating, each team member designed their own catalog to help visualize the art direction. My goal was to design something that looks professional and modern.
After combining ideas, it was clear that we needed to appeal to prospective design students. By designing a more visually interesting catalog, our readers will be curious about the Graphic Design program at UNC Charlotte. We did this by designing each spread to be cohesive and fluid. We varied the rotation and alignment of the page elements and created a visual hierarchy.
